Summer Reading
Saturday, June 26 from 12-4 PM in the Community Room
Each year, from June through July, we host Summer Reading. We have programs for all ages.
The 2021 Summer Reading Theme is “Tails and Tales.” The possibilities are endless!
You won’t want to miss our Summer STEM program for ages 6-11! Unlike the rest of the year, starting June 15th we have a new activity every single week through the end of July! Pick them up at the Front Circulation Desk while supplies last.
Craft instructions will be available on our website and on our YouTube Channel.

Earn a gorilla!
Fill out the online form below and upload a photo of your child doing one of our STEM activities. Then come to the Children’s Reference Desk and talk to a librarian to take one of the gorillas in the children’s area home!
1 per child while gorillas last; for ages 6-11.

Pokémon Game Day
Saturday, June 26 from 12-4 PM in the Community Room
All games, all ages! Bring your Switch, DS, cards, and/or Pokémon Go on your phone. Come and play, or learn the trading card game, how to build a winning team in the video games, and even do some Pokémon Go battles.

Kid and Tween STEAM: Hot Air Balloon Art
Try your hand at cut paper art and play with perspective with this hot air balloon art craft!
Things you will need include:
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Something round to trace a circle from (such as a cup)
- Markers
- Paper for the sky, grass/trees, balloon basket, and clouds
- 6 thin strips of colorful paper for the balloon

Come to our Mother Daughter Book Club meeting on Thursday, April 1st at 6:30- 7:30 p.m.! This month we’re talking about Tuesdays at the Castle by Jessica Day George.
This month for Books for Boys we’re reading and discussing Fablehaven by Brandon Mull.
Join us on Thursday, April 8th at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room!
You won’t want to miss our April Kid and Tween STEAM activities! Starting Tuesday, April 13th, you can come pick up our hot air balloon art kits at the Front Circulation Desk. Our flying machines kits will be available a couple weeks later on the 27th.

You won’t want to miss our March Kid and Tween STEAM activities! Starting Tuesday, March 9th, you can come pick up our paper towel experiment kits at the front desk. Our bottle experiments will be available a couple weeks later on the 23rd.
Hello Mother Daughter Book Club friends! Welcome to our American Girls discussion page. For our March 4, 2021 meeting, we will highlight our library’s incredible collection of American Girl books, and you can help us! Here’s what you need to do:
1. Check out an American Girl book. You can find them in our catalog here.
2. Read the book together.
3. Create costumes for yourselves in the time period of the American Girl book you chose. (This is totally fun, but also totally optional.)
4. Find a “companion” book that takes place in the same time period as your American Girl book or explains something that your main character likes so you can share it with our book club.
5. Come to our Mother Daughter Book Club meeting on Thursday, March 4 @ 6:30- 7:30 p.m. in your costume for an American Girl fashion show! We will all get to tell each other about the book we chose.
*We will hand out a Take ‘n Go craft at the meeting.
On our Facebook event page, you can talk with other MDBC members, and if any of you want to get together, read the same book, and do your “fashion” show together, you can connect to do planning here. You can also post thoughts about your book.
This month for Books for Boys we’re reading and discussing A Single Shard by Linda Sue Park.
Maritza, our resident artist, will bring her throwing wheel and show everyone how to do ceramics. We will also make pinch pots for everyone to take home.
